Emissions Reduction Roadmap for the Australian Wine Sector

Empowering and enabling the wine sector to achieve carbon neutrality

Wine Australia has partnered with Edge Environment to develop an Emissions Reduction Roadmap for the Australian grape and wine sector. The project will set achievable carbon emissions reduction targets, guide the sector collectively towards those targets and provide practical information and cost-effective tools to support grape and wine producers. The project is running June – December 2022.

You can view the media release here and read more about the project here.

Get involved

There are lots of ways to get involved, no matter where you sit in the wine production or supply chain.

We’ll keep updating this section with current activities in the project and invitations to participate.

Carbon Emissions Survey

We want to know what you are already doing in this space and what you see as the drivers and roadblocks in emissions reduction, so that we can tailor the roadmap to ensure it is helping you become more profitable and more sustainable.

If you work in the Australian grape and wine sector or the supply chain, please take the short survey and help us make the roadmap relevant for you.

Launch Webinar

The Launch Webinar for our sector’s Emissions Reduction Roadmap was held on 20 July.

In an hour we explored the why, the what and the how with our project partners, Edge Environment.

We ran through why this is the greatest challenge for our generation, what exactly we mean when we talk about ‘sustainability’ and ‘carbon’ and how this project is set up to drive answers for you in your role in Australia’s wine production.
